The Holy Avengers were a Space Marine Chapter.^[1]

Background

The Holy Avengers are unlike any other chapter in the Imperium and one of the most secretive with all official records redacted. They are of unknown founding but some say they descended from a secret order older than the Imperium itself. The Holy Avengers are the only holders of the Imperial warrant of inviolable authority signed by the Emperor himself. They do not adhere to any codex and have a unique structure, battle groups are known as reclusians and are often led by a master chaplain or a veteran known as a sword saint.^[1]
