The Host of Iron was one of the Hosts of the First Legion of the Legiones Astartes.[1]
Overview
Drawn at first from the hardy nomads of the Thulic tribes on Old Terra, adapting their ancient traditions to the modern battlefield, the Host of Iron was expert in the employment of armoured vehicles on the field of battle. From the lumbering gun-crawlers of Old Earth's pre-Unity armies, to the war engines designed and built for use by the Emperor's Legiones Astartes, the Host of Iron would pioneer many of the strategies that underpinned their use on the battlefield.[1]
In time, the Host would be reorganised into the six Wings of the Hexagrammaton.[1]
