Imperial Vengeance
The Imperial Vengeance was a recommissioned Battle Barge in the Dark Angels Legion, that took part in the Horus Heresy.[1]
History
It became the flagship of a Dark Angels Lieutenant, who led a hastily put together strike force that was dispatched to destroy a World Eaters base, located deep within a moon. Built during the Great Crusade, the base lay near several of the Imperium's worlds and could no longer be allowed to function, since the World Eaters had joined the traitorous Warmaster Horus' forces. When the strike force approached the moon, though, the World Eaters fired upon them with defensive lasers and then launched several Carrier Ascent Pods to board the strike force's warships. As the battle waged, the Dark Angels fired upon the moon, as it was the only way to ensure the base's destruction, and they continued to do so, even as a hidden World Eaters fleet appeared and attacked them. The strike force's firepower eventually carved its way deep enough into the moon to damage the World Eaters' base, but this caused the moon to suddenly explode. The enormous blast completely destroyed both fleets and left the Dark Angels Sergeant Abdaziel Magron as the only survivor. However he was left to drift through space, with no way of contacting his Legion for help.[1]
