Inigo Ravellon is an Ecclesiarchy Bishop-Praetor of Varentis II.[1]

History

He was present on the world, when a series of insurrections began in its city-states. Now matter how many were put down by Varentis II's Adeptus Arbites or PDF, more sprang up elsewhere. The world's Ecclesiarchy, soon discovered the insurrections' Heretical leanings, but by then the ruling Heptarchy grip on Varentis had greatly deteriorated. This led Ravellon and the senior members of the Ecclesiarchy, to decide to call upon the Order of Our Martyred Lady for aid. They knew the Heptarchy was now no longer able to handle, what was obviously becoming a Chaos Cult uprising. A fleet, led by Canoness Preceptor Moirelle, was sent to restore the Imperium's rule of Varentis II, but the tides of the Warp worked against it. When they finally arrived, the fleet discovered Varentis was fully in the grips of Heretics. By then, Ravellon had become one of the few Ecclesiarchy survivors in the capital city-state of Varent-har.[1]

For several months, before the fleet arrived, he waged a guerrilla war against the Heretics at the head of a civilian militia. When Moirelle's forces invaded the world, Ravellon and the militia were hidden in the crypts of the desecrated Cathedrum Mirabilis, which was held by Heretics. The Canoness Preceptor later fought to cleanse the Cathedrum, which led Ravellon to go to their aid with the militia after he heard the Adeptus Sororitas' battle psalms. Their sudden appearance gave the Sororitas time to recover, but many of the militia were killed before they could reach the Heretics. However between their two forces, the Sororitas and militia completely cleansed the Cathedrum. Moirelle's forces would then go on to reclaim Varentis II's city-states and restore the Imperium's rule on the world. Afterwards, the ruling members of the Heptarchy suffered greatly at Moirelle's hands. For failing to defend Varentis II, the bodies of each of Heptarchy's dynasties were taken and made to line the major transit ways of the city-states in Stasis-sealed moments of agony. Purges also continued on the world for more than a year, under the oversight of Ravellon. Finally by Ecclesiarchal decree, and approved by the High Lords, Ravellon brought Varentis II under the direct rule of the Ecclesiarchy. It was then rededicated as a Shrine World, in the name of those who had fallen in the world's defense.[1]
