Irontower System
The Irontower System is a star system of Imperial space located in the Bastior Sub-Sector of Segmentum Pacificus.[1b]
History
At the outbreak of the Fourth Tyrannic War, Task Force IV of Indomitus Crusade Battle Group Faustus was engaged in a cleanup operation against heretics in the Irontower System. Not long afterwards, all contact was lost with the Task Force. This, along with the similar sudden disappearance of Task Force III in the Stanghalde System, alarmed Groupmaster Tysen Yacobe, who reported it to his superiors (in particular Lord Solar Arcadian Leontus).[1a]
It would later transpire that the entire Sub-sector was under attack by the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Grendyllus.[1a] The Irontower System was infested by the xenos swarms.[1b][1c][2] Although they were cut off from outside contact, Imperial forces in the system continued to hold out against the Tyranids as best they could.[1b] Among these were units of the Kordessan Light Infantry.[1c]
Some time after the outbreak of the war, Inquisitor Halwyl led a combined force of Deathwatch Space Marines from Fort Obsidus and Tempestus Scions of the 15th Psian Jackals regiment in a secret mission to the Irontower System despite the danger posed by the Tyranids. All Imperial contact has been lost with the Inquisitor and his troops.[2]

Contact with Other Worlds
Stable Warp Routes link the Irontower System to other systems in the Bastior Sub-Sector: the Circeyl and Formidyre Systems.[1b]
