Isandula Verona
Isandula Verona was a genius and a magnificent artist of Terra who was known to create exceptional frescos. She lived at least a thousand years before the end of the Emperor's Unification Wars.[1]
One of her awe-inspiring works was painted on the ceiling of the Church of the Lightning Stone. The ceiling was entirely covered in a series of wide panels, each one depicting a different scene; nude figures disporting in a magical garden; an explosion of stars; a battle between a golden knight and a silver dragon; and myriad other scenes of a similarly fantastical nature. The mural is noted as featuring vibrant hues, fictive architecture, exceptional muscular anatomy of its figures, elements of dynamic motion, luminous colouration and haunting expressions.[1]
Verona's mural was noted has having a significant impact when it was revealed. To quote one of Vastari's works, whom was a famous scholar of the arts: "And the whole world came running when the fresco was revealed, and the sight of it was enough to reduce all who saw it to stunned silence."[1]
