The Ithakan Sea Lance is the signature weapon of the Iron Snakes Chapter.[1]
A formidable military spear derived from the lances or harpoons used to hunt water-wyrms on their home world. The hunting of a predatory water—wyrm with a sea lance is considered an essential rite of passage for any probationer. The spears used in warfare are a militarised and sometimes powered version of the traditional hunting weapon. Before battle, phratry brothers are ordinarily issued with two lances, with fresh ones being supplied before the next engagement. Lances are most often used as missiles, hurled in the fashion of a javelin to wound or slay large foes, though powered examples are often wielded hand-to-hand in the manner of glaives.[1]
