Jakob DeVos
Jakob DeVos was a Merchant Guilder in the Underhives of Necromunda[1a] who dealt with many of its gangs, including those of Escher, Goliath and Orlock provenance. He was the narrator of Necromunda: Underhive Wars.[2c][2d]
He had a deal with Tessera and her Banecats where she would delve with her gang into the bottom of the Underhive and retrieve precious archeotech. DeVos added to his stipulations that once the Banecats would establish a hideout, he would be given a place to live there. Tessera kept the letter of the deal[2a], but not the spirit, as she locked him in an air-tight room where he would have asphyxiated.[2b] He was rescued by Blutvor and his Rowdy Bois.[2b]
Despite Tessera's betrayal, DeVos organised a tournament in which the winning gang would help her and her gang.[2e] His reasoning was that whichever gang arrived at the archeotech, he'd get his cut.[2c][2d]. His manipulations led to the founding of an Alliance between the Banecats, Rowdy Bois and competition winner Black Ash, who successfully took it from the Dog Soldiers. However, also according to his planning, the alliance dissolved in favour of each leader vying to be the sole owner of the device.[2e][2f]
