Julius Gundelfo was a Fourth Master Tacticae Terrestria, amongst the hundreds of Imperial tacticae that aided the Primarch Dorn's efforts in planning the Imperial Palace's defenses, during the Siege of Terra.[1]

History

Like the other tacticae, Gundelfo was considered to be amongst the Imperium's greatest strategic thinkers, in the age of the Horus Heresy. When the Siege of Terra began, the tacticae were located in the Imperial Palace's Bhab Bastion and worked within the Bastion's Grand Borealis Strategium, which served as Dorn's main control room. They were initially safe there, as the Bastion was located in the Inner Palace and was far from the fighting. Eventually though, despite Dorn's best efforts, the forces of the traitorous Warmaster Horus reached the Inner Palace and soon began attacking the Bhab Bastion's walls.[1]

Despite this, the tacticae and other Imperials there continued their work and did not stop, even as the Bhab Bastion was invaded. It was only as the Traitors neared the Grand Borealis Strategium, that it began to be evacuated for the safety of the Imperial Palace's Sanctum Imperialis. However, this was done too late and Gundelfo was among the many Imperials who were killed within the Strategium, before they could escape.[1]
