Kaer'shan was a Salamanders Contemptor Dreadnought, who took part in the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy.[1]

History

Kaer'shan as a Forge Warden[2]

He was a devotee of the Promethean Cult and was considered to be amongst the Salamanders greatest heroes. Before his interment, Kaer'shan was a Forge Warden during the Great Crusade and held the rank as he took part in the Horus Heresy's Dropsite Massacre[2]. When the Traitor Legions fully revealed their treachery on Isstvan V, Kaer'shan and many other Salamanders took a brave stand against them to allow the Loyalist Legions to escape the Traitor's attack. During the course of doing so, however, the Traitors launched an ambush that broke through the Loyalists' defense and Kaer'shan fought to delay their advance. They eventually struck him down, though, and the Forge Warden fell while gripping his Thunder Hammer.[1]

Miraculously, Kaer'shan still lived and he was rescued from the battlefield by other Loyalists. While he was later amongst the few survivors of the Loyalist Legions to escape the Dropsite Massacre, the injuries he suffered on Isstvan V caused Kaer'shan to be interred within a Contemptor Dreadnought. The fires of Nocturne now burned within him though and after he emerged in his new form, Kaer'shan was ready to deliver its judgment to the Traitors of the Imperium.[1]
