Katar Garrix[3]

Katar Garrix is the current Headsman of the Red Corsairs and is a high ranking officer in the Warband.[1]

History

Originally, Garrix was a member of the Executioners Chapter but joined Huron's Astral Claws at the end of the Badab War.[2]

While Garrix is a competent tactician at best, few are more fearsome in battle than the skull-helmed warrior himself. Wielding an axe that stands taller than most mortals, the Headsman has claimed the lives of many enemy champions. Quite a few of his fellow Red Corsairs have also met their ends at Garrix's hands as well. As the Warband's Headsman, it is Garrix who will kill any Red Corsair who disappoints their lord Huron Blackheart beyond redemption and then wastes their final moments begging for mercy. He is a butcher, however, who lives to cause death in glorious single combat.[1]

While he currently serves Blackheart, Garrix is not a creature whom loyalty comes to easily. If the commander of the Red Corsairs was replaced, Garrix would simply follow a new master - provided they give the Headsman the opportunity to wet his axe with blood.[1] His loyalty is also conditional on a leader who can offer him worthy foes to test his skills against in battle. His tendency to carry the skulls of his foes has led some to suspect him of being a devotee of Khorne, though Garrix himself does not knowingly dedicate any of his kills to the Blood God.[3]
