Kauragar was a Centurion in the World Eaters Legion who was marked for death by the Traitorous forces of Horus during the Battle of Isstvan III, for his loyalty to the Emperor.[1]

When Angron came to Isstvan III's surface to personally end the lives of his Loyalist sons, Kauragar managed to inflict a small wound to his gene-father's throat. The wound is not enough to slow the enraged Primarch down, much less kill him, but it is more than most of his victims have managed, and Angron is pleased. As an act of kindness, he stays with Kauragar as he dies. The Captain, with his last breath, asks his father why he now fights for Horus. Angron says he does not - he learned on Nuceria that the one and only thing worth fighting for is freedom, and now Angron is a free man, no longer the Emperor's slave.[1]
