The Keprian Reclamation was a battle of the Indomitus Crusade, waged by the Soul Drinkers' 3rd Company under Captain Quhya, to reclaim Kepris from the Xenophile Cultist forces of Yeceqath.[1a]

Overview

The world was chosen by the Crusade due to Kepris housing a collection of relics of the Imperial Creed and would be a much needed psychological victory for the Imperium. When it was reclaimed, the Ecclesiarchy would be able to preach about not just the signs of the end of mankind, but to a rare sign of victory for the Imperium as well.[1a]

The Soul Drinkers were able to quickly descend to Kepris and overrun the heretical shrines against hordes of mutilated Cultists. As the battle raged, the Cultist demagogue known as the Uppermost Hand broadcast videos of vicious public executions where prisoners were torn apart by monstrous creatures called the Thricefold. The Soul Drinkers under Cyvon were tasked with infiltrating Keprian's capital of Hollowmount to find and eliminate the Cult leaders.[1b]

As they advanced to Hollowmount, the Soul Drinkers encountered Inquisitor Stheno, who was leading a group of resistance fighters against the Cultists. After battling through a sealed factory district, the group was able to track down and kill the Uppermost Hand as well as eliminate the source of Thricefold production. Using his Omophagea upon the consumed brain matter of a slain cultist, Cyvon was able to learn the identity of the Cult leader, Yeceqath, as Kalypsa Yathe, the daughter of a noble house of the world. He also discovered that the Cultists are acting on the orders of Eldar from Biel-Tan to find a powerful relic called the Lyre of Innokens. With this new intelligence, Cyvon contacted his Captain Quhya. As all this was taking place, the main Soul Drinkers force was already engaged with Eldar who have arrived to take the relic for themselves.[1c]

In the subsequent battle with the Eldar, Cyvon in desperation ordered an orbiting Strike Cruiser to launch a Lance strike directly at the commanding Farseer's position. The ensuing blast scattered the Soul Drinkers.[1d] However Cyvon and his survivors were able to find and eliminate Yathe as the Farseer, revealed to still be alive, is about to claim the Lyre of Innokens. Cyvon was able to smash the Lyre, forcing the frustrated Farseer to retreat.[1e]

In the aftermath of the battle the Soul Drinkers were hailed as heroes and took part in a parade held by the new Governor. The Soul Drinkers learned from Inquisitor Stheno of some of the past heresies of the original Chapter, leaving Cyvon and the others to wonder as to their true history.[1e]
