Kess
Kess is a Sergeant in the Dark Angels Chapter's Ravenwing.[1]
History
He was among its forces that Master Sammael led to aid Gehöft in late M41[1]. The Imperial world was the latest to be infected with Nurgle's diseases, by the Blighted Claw Warband and their Plague Lord Paramyx. He was being targeted, however, by the White Scars' Master of the Hunt Kor'sarro Khan, whose forces came to Gehöft to collect Paramyx's head. Sammael agreed to aid the Khan in this task and Kess was among those that accompanied the Ravenwing Master. Then as their Companies fought the Blighted Claw, Kor'sarro Khan and Sammael led their selected squadrons deep into the battlefield to hunt for the Plague Lord.[2]
They soon found him deep in the battlefield, but before they attacked Paramyx[2], Sergeant Ryvor spotted the battle flag of the Fallen Angel Skethon. The traitor was thought to have died after his last encounter with the Dark Angels, but Skethon had survived and had allied his forces with the Blighted Claw. After Ryvor informed him of the Fallen Angel's flag, Master Sammael immediately ordered his Ravenwing squadrons to pursue the war machine the flag flew upon. Abandoning the White Scars, however[1], allowed Kor'sarro Khan's squadron to be overrun by the Blighted Claw and only the Master of the Hunt escaped with his life. Paramyx was thus able to leave Gehöft and infect other Imperial worlds[2], while Skethon managed to escape from the Ravenwing's grasp as well. The Dark Angels did, however, recover the Fallen Angel's personal journal and Sammael made ready to return it to his Chapter's Inner Circle[1]. By then, though, Gehöft was doomed and the Ravenwing and other surviving Imperial forces, were evacuated before the world was destroyed by an Exterminatus.[2]
