Khulen is a world of the Imperium.^[1a]

History

Just before the start of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade, an Astra Militarum battlegroup under Slaydo invaded Khulen in the planet's winter to combat the forces of Chaos.^[1a]

After two months of hard fighting, the Imperials managed to drive the heretics out of the planet's three main cities. However, Slaydo warned the Guard to maintain vigil. Sure enough, Slaydo's suspicions were proven correct within the next few weeks; the enemy had not been defeated, but had fallen back and regrouped in the wilderness, massing their numbers before they counterattacked the Imperials. Thanks to Slaydo's tactical brilliance, the Imperials won the war for Khulen, but it took several months in total before victory was achieved.^[1a] Indeed, it was claimed by some that Slaydo was selected to become the Warmaster of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade based on his victory on Khulen.^[1b]

Among the Guard forces deployed on Khulen were Hyrkan Regiments.^[1a]
