History
Its demise began in M42, when Xenos worshiping cults began an uprising on the world, which caused Kitzu VII to send out a plea for aid. This was later answered by the Raven Guard's Chapter Master, Kayvaan Shrike, who led a strike force to save the beleaguered world. However upon making planetfall, the Raven Guard discovered that Kitzu VII had been overrun by Tyranids and there was nothing they could do to save it. The strike force was determined to salvage something from the disaster, though, and began claiming bio-samples from the evolved Tyranid forms rampaging across the world's surface. When the Raven Guard later came at risk of being devoured themselves, the strike force began using their Stormravens to evacuate from Kitzu VII, via one of its destroyed cities. The Tyranids pursued them as they did so, however, and the Raven Guard began a fighting retreat across the Celestrus macro-viaduct, until all of their surviving forces were evacuated.[1]
Trivia
- Kitzu VII was created by the Warhammer World Studio for the release of Warhammer 40,0000: Leviathan. It was featured in a diorama called the Retreat From Kitzu VII, which was displayed in the 2023 Warhammer World Exhibition.[1]
