A Klaxon is a human device that loudly emits harsh notes. Klaxon can be found within many Imperial and Mechanicus voidships[1a] and Knight drop-keeps.[1b] They often emit loud notes, such as honks, when large doors open or close,[1a] or blare wailing alarms alongside red emergency lumens.[1c]

A klaxon is a electromechanical vehicle horn. Mainly used on cars, trains and ships, it produces an easily identifiable sound, often transcribed onomatopoeically in English as "awooga". Like most mechanical horns, it has largely been replaced by solid-state electronic alarms, though the memorable tone has persisted. Klaxon was originally a brand name.
