Laqueus is an Imperial Feral World.[1]
History
It was among the first worlds the Imperium had to defend against Hive Fleet Kraken, during the Second Tyrannic War. As its forces were still being mobilized to combat the Tyranids, the Ultramarines Chapter were deployed to aid the Astra Militarum defending Laqueus. They faced a large horde of the Xenos in an open field, though, and the Guardsmen needed more time to construct bunkers, trench lines and lay down miles of razorwire that would hold back the Hive Fleet. In order to allow the Astra Militarum to succeed, the Ultramarines' commander devised a plan for a small group of his forces to distract the Tyranids, by allowing themselves to be tracked by Lictors. By doing so, the commander hoped the Hive Fleet would be drawn towards the small group, which would then be extracted to safety by Thunderhawks before it was overwhelmed. While the plan succeeded and the Astra Militarum were able to finish preparing their defenses, it is not known what became of the small Ultramarine force that distracted the Tyranids.[1]
