Lasandro Titus
Lasandro Titus is an Ultramarines Primaris Lieutenant. He was given command of Strike Force Agastus, but he instead lets his mentor and friend Brother Dreadnought Agastus lead the strike force.[1a]
History
This goes against the Codex Astartes, as well as Titus' well noted leadership abilities, as the Lieutenant is a skilled strategic thinker and talented combatant. His expertise, however, lies in masterfully directing his warriors' firepower in even the most extreme battlefield conditions. Yet despite all this, Titus still insists in having Agastus have command of Strike Force Agastus, though none can doubt that the former Chaplain is still a mighty force of the Emperor's will.[1a]
The strike force is currently among the Imperium's forces that are defending the besieged Tarmoth System, which has been invaded by a massive Ork Waaagh!. Stationed aboard the Strike Cruiser Pride of Talassar, the strike force has been deployed to help save the vital Agri World Kolomar, where they are utilizing hit and run tactics against the Xenos.[1a] Before one such attack occurred, Titus made banter with Agastus and mentioned their successful battle against the heretical Ork creations of the Master-Mek. At first, however his mentor did not remember the battle on Idrapol, until Titus provided more details, which finally jogged Agastus' memory. Though the Brother Dreadnought tried to cover this lapse with humour, Titus became concerned and privately asked Agastus if he was up to leading the attack. While Agastus did admit he was not who he once was and was still getting used to being a Dreadnought, he was adamant that his ability to wage war should never be doubted. Titus quickly assured his mentor, that though he knew Agastus was suffering, the Lieutenant would rather die than ever doubt his old friend. Agastus thanked him and then told the Strike Force to ready themselves and be prepared to retreat, when the order was given. The Orks attacked shortly afterwards and though the Strike Force killed many of them, Sergeant Kaldan squad learned that a second wave began to approach their location. By then, however, Agastus was lost to battle fervour and was engaged in heavy melee combat, so the Sergeant brought the information to Titus. Kaldan then suggested they call in their gunship to evacuate and the Lieutenant agreed. Titus ordered Kaldan to ready his squad and the wounded to be evacuated, while he took Sergeant Haspian's squad to rally to Agastus' position. He could see that the Dreadnought risked being overwhelmed and they would need to perform a fighting retreat afterwards. As they raced towards his old mentor's side, Titus vowed that he would not let his friend be overcome.[1b]
