Lorr (Commissar)
| This article is about the Commissar. For other uses of Lorr, see Lorr (disambiguation). |
Lorr was the Commissar of the force which Imperial Governor Bastor Nulaati sent via hidden underground shuttle to the valley of Kadaklan on Kabaal III to divert the Eldar forces as the ecoshield of the capital city Inari fell. It is unclear if Lorr was successful in this Battle for Kadaklan, but can be presumed dead.[1]
History
Impal
Commissar Lorr was in command of a small defence force of Imperial Guard during the Ork invasion of Impal. Lorr was initially under orders to defend a small communications base from Ork Scouts but found the base was in the way of a major Ork advance, which he would need to withstand until Blood Angels reinforcements could arrive.[2] Lorr and his men fired Autocannons at advancing Warbikes, many squads falling to despair at the size of the onslaught only to be brought back into the battle by the courageous orders of Lorr. Just as the Orks reached the base and hand-to-hand combat began, Lorr ordered his reserve of Storm Troopers forward, who beat back the waves of Orks and soon Guardsmen joined them, fighting to the Ork back line where they encountered and were nearly wiped out by an Ork Dreadnought. Following this, Lorr ordered a retreat to the outpost. Now surrounded and bombarded by artillery, Lorr and his storm troopers lead the remaining squads of guardsmen and defended the base with the courage and determination of heroes: only after hours did the Thunderhawk Gunships arrive and the Orks retreated.[2]
Lorr was commended highly for his part in the victory on Impal, and he was granted his Storm Troopers, Morran, Callen, and Diris, as his personal bodyguard. With their help, Lorr has earned high honours in several other campaigns.[2]
Kabaal III
During the Eldar invasion of Kabaal III, Lorr and his Storm Troopers were entrusted with the fate of the planet when Imperial Govenor Bastor Nulaati sent a diversionary force through an underground shuttle to a hidden outpost fifty miles from the besieged capital of Inari in the Kadaklan valley to launch a rear counter-attack against the Eldar. This diversionary force was able to split a portion of the Eldar force, which foresaw their arrival as soon as the shuttle left the capital, and soon the Battle for Kadaklan was underway.[1]
The success of Commissar Lorr was not recorded in Imperial records, perhaps the last-ditch attack was not enough to stem the tide of Eldar war machines and perhaps the Eldar took Kadaklan and launched a shuttle of Aspect Warriors into the heart of Inari. The truth is irrelevant as when reinforcements arrived in the Emperor Class Battleship Fist of Righteousness, the Eldar were gone and Kabaal III was a near-lifeless Dead World, devoid of anything but the most basic single-cell life forms.[1]
