Malstrain Alpha
The Malstrain Alpha is the apex Malstrain Genestealer of Necromunda's Hive Secundus and is considered to be the purest embodiment of its twisted brood.[1]
History
Known to have existed since Hive Secundus was first explored after its destruction, the Malstrain Alpha is rumoured to be the direct descendent of the Malstrain Patriarch that brought about the Hive's downfall. It now fights besides other Malstrain Genestealers or the Cult of the Second Son's Malstrain gangs. Few have ever seen the Malstrain Alpha, however, as the consummate hunter can effortlessly stalk those that enter its home. The Genestealer's unique biology greatly aids in this, as it is able to morph and contort its way through small gaps in Secundus' ruins. The Malstrain Alpha also contains the Madness of the Malstrain, which strikes at anyone who attempts to attack Genestealer. Those whose willpower fails them during these attacks, will fall victim to the Madness and become insane after having their very psyche is shattered. Despite all this, Necromunda's Spyre Hunters consider the Malstrain Alpha to be a much sought-after trophy and is second only to Hive Secundus' elusive Patriarch itself. While scores of Spyre hunting parties have been slain by the Genestealer, the few who have managed to survive these failed hunts, bear the deep wounds the Malstrain Alpha inflicted upon them with pride.[1]
