Markan Hrotham
Markan Hrotham was a Lord of House Makabius, active during the Horus Heresy.[1]
Biography
Originally a Freeblade who left his House to fight in the Great Crusade, Markan gained a high reputation and the favour of Ezekyle Abaddon after helping the Luna Wolves defeat ancient artificial lifeforms in an abandoned forge-crypt. Markan grew close to Abaddon and the Luna Wolves.[1]
Shortly before the Drop Site Massacre, Markan returned to his homeworld of Baroda with a message from Horus promising glory to the world if they joined his rebellion. The ruling Lords of Baroda refused, but with the aid of younger glory-hungry Knight pilots, Markan was able to launch a coup and take control of the planet. As House Makabius' new Lord, he then launched a purge against Baroda's loyalist elements. During the Heresy, Markan became a member of the Death Guard Primarch Mortarion's inner circle.[1]
