Master of Artistry

Through the calm practice of the arts, you shall master your passions and yoke them to good. Then you shall be able to master the galaxy."
The Master of Artistry is a rank within the Blood Angels Chapter.[1]
Description
Those who serve in the position are charged with teaching new Neophytes to learn to control their passions in order to resist the temptations of the Blood Angels' Red Thirst and Black Rage Gene-seed flaws. This is done by the Master of Artistry instructing the Neophytes on the Chapter's Five Angelic Graces: Focus, Humility, Mercy, Restraint and the last and greatest of all, Forgiveness. These will direct their passions to the calm practice of the arts, where the Neophytes will learn to master them by creating the beautiful artworks the Blood Angels are known for. This will cause them to learn the application of paint, wielding of the calligraphy pen, striking of the sculptor's hammer and the precision of engineering. This will also cause the Neophytes to develop a deep understanding of history, mathematics, and many other subjects, though the art of war is taught by other teachers.[1]
The first lesson a Master of Artistry teaches the Neophytes is to live in splendor as Sanguinius decreed. This is done by having them select a workbench, from where the Neophytes will create works that will beautify their barracks and make it a suitable place for angels to dwell. The Neophytes must, however, chose a workbench carefully as it will be theirs for the next five years.[1]
