The Matriarch Primus, also referred to as a Queen, is a title given to the ruler of all the House Escher members on Necromunda.^[1b] Supporting her rule are the Council of Crones, who are members from House Escher's most prominent families and powerful individuals.^[1a]

The Matriarch Primus is selected from the noble families of the clan, embodying its high fashion and grace, with many tracing their lineage back to the Eschaki era. Recently, the Vestia and Sabine bloodlines have dominated this position. Over the centuries, various powerful women have held the title, with varying degrees of suitability for the role.^[1b]
