Bodily Disorders
Brain Disorders
- Gathalamor Syndrome: A psychiatric disorder in which those affected become suffused with the need to sacrifice themselves in the name of the Emperor, following the examples of Imperial martyrs like Confessor Dolan Chirosius (whose site of death the syndrome was named after). Most sufferers join the Frateris Militia or fanatical cults like the Redemption Cult, and often practice various forms of self-flagellation. Simeon 38X is known to have Gathalamor Syndrome[1]. He believed he was tainted by evil and suffered from hallucinations that led him to attack Cardinal Simeon, which resulted in him becoming a Arco-flagellant afterwards. However, Simeon 38X still continues to suffer from the condition and it has caused him to disobey orders and even act on his own to kill those around him.[3]
- Gravitisthesia (also known as Mazbur's Syndrome): A progressive disorder caused by exotic gravitational flux. Symptoms include paranoia, loss of coordination, bursts of anxiety or rapture, memory loss, hallucination and sometimes, in extremis, homicidal urges. The condition is usually accompanied by myasthenia gravis, osteochondritis, osteoporosis, scoliosis, and leukaemia. Mazbur's Syndrome is common amongst the mining population of Cinchare.[2]
- Meme-Virus: A virus that affects human and mechanical brains, compelling them to continuously collect information. Many Savants have this condition, thus making them perfectly suited for their job.[2]
Respiratory Disorders
- Abraded Lung: a chronic condition resulting from pollutants scarring the sensitive tissue of the respiratory organs. Common among people regularly exposed to environments with hot, humid, pollutant filled air, such as various areas in hive cities.
Warp-influenced
Contact with the Warp often triggers strange mutations and metabolism changes in the body. Many of these afflictions are associated with the Chaos God Nurgle, the Lord of Pestilence and Decay.
- Nurgle's Rot: A plague created by the Chaos God Nurgle that infests both the soul and body of its victims.
- Obliterator Virus: A virus that gradually transforms its victim into an Obliterator.
