Melusine was one of Fabius Bile's earliest vat-born creations in Canticle City.[1] Now his wayward daughter, she has since become a daemon beloved by both Slaanesh and Fulgrim.[3b]

History

Melusine is known as the first and greatest of the vat-born, created from multiple genetic templates before Fabius' experiments on the cloned Warmaster Horus. He had only seen her a handful of times after she left Canticle City.[1] Her creation terrified Fulgrim so much that he snatched her away and brought her into the Warp with him. On Callax, Melusine was forced to dance endlessly, lest she be devoured by Daemons. When she finally was forced to cease her dance, Fulgrim unexpectedly saved her.[2a] Since then, she has been corrupted into a form of Daemon and appears to Bile and his servants both in their dreams[3] and in reality.[2b][1]

At the conclusion of the Battle of Belial IV, Melusine fused with a dying Igori in order to create a complete being. She departed the battle after saving Fabius' life with the help of Daemons.[2e]

Trivia

  • The Black Library website description for Prodigal misspells Melusine's name as Mesuline.[4]
