Misthound Kindred

The Misthound Kindred is a Kroot Kindred that is currently active in the Koronus Expanse.^[1]

The ancestors of the Misthounds originally inhabited Pech alongside other early Kroot. Generations before the first Orks or T'au came to Pech, a migrating group of Crotalids arrived on the planet by migrating through the Warp, and were quickly hunted and consumed by the native Kroot. The creatures' ability to move through the Warp proved difficult to acquire, however, and only began to emerge in a usable fashion after centuries of controlled breeding. The first member to manifest the ability to make short jumps through the Warp, Ashak Kor, was born generations after the arrival of the Orks.^[1]

Ashak Kor eventually became the Shaper of the Kindred and led his followers offworld in search for means with which to refine their newly-acquired ability, in time making their way to the Koronus Expanse. In the present day, the Misthounds focus on hunting beings with a connection to the Warp, with the hope of one day developing the ability to travel between worlds without the need for starships.^[1]
