Biography
Early Life
Major Moriaus Jaxon grew up as a Progena in the Schola Progenium on the Shrine World of Harper’s Point. Known for his rebellious nature, Jaxon frequently found himself disciplined by the Drill Abbots. Despite his small stature and troublemaking tendencies, his leadership abilities were evident. Unlike others of his size, Jaxon was never bullied; instead, he commanded respect and leadership over his peers.[1b]
Adulthood
Upon reaching adulthood, Jaxon served as a lieutenant for the 76th Thacian Gunners. His leadership quickly earned him the respect of veteran soldiers, leading to his promotion to Major. During the re-taking of the Lost World of Bryce, Jaxon’s unit suffered heavy losses due to the ineffective and suspicious commands of Colonel Kayter, whose recruits were strange and uniform in their bald appearance.[1b]
Jaxon, suspicious of Kayter, confronted him at headquarters, discovering Kayter’s betrayal and allegiance to Genestealers. After a fierce battle, Jaxon killed Kayter and the Genestealer Patriarch, leading to a call for off-world Imperial assistance. However, the alien taint led to internecine fighting and the eventual Exterminatus of the planet.[1b]
Inquisitor Vorne, charged to investigate this situation, recognized Jaxon’s loyalty and spared him but not his squad, causing a lasting tension between them. Jaxon wished to die with his men, but Vorne insisted he had more to offer the Imperium, arguing that it would have been disloyal for Jaxon to perish.[1b]
