Mydgal Alpha is a world of the Imperium.[1]
History
For millennia, this world served as an industrial powerhouse, processing vast quantities of promethium for Imperial armies. However, several centuries before the close of M41, the chemicals beneath the planet's crust had caught alight, creating a vast ever-burning sea of flame and poisoning the atmosphere. Thereafter, the planet was reclassified by the Administratum as a Hive World which became home to Hive Irkalla, a single refinery super-hive on the planet's last remaining landmass.[1]
In late M41 the planet suffered a major Daemonic incursion caused by a Warp Storm. During the Hunt for the Wulfen, the Space Wolves under Egil Iron Wolf battled the forces of Chaos across the planet. While the Wolves were successful in covering the Wulfen, Mydgal Alpha's population was butchered by Daemons and subsequently purged by the Inquisition.[1]
