Nelson was a Colonel and Tank Commander of the Krieg 23rd Armoured Astra Militarum Regiment.^[1]

History

He was known for pushing his Guardsmen into close combat with the enemy. This was often to point blank range, all while Nelson waved his Power Sword, The Colonel's Deathblow, from the cupola of his command tank. He would later meet his end on the world Frizzen Prime, when Nelson drove The Colonel's Deathblow through an Ork Deff Dread, which caused it to explode.^[1]

• Nelson's reputation of closing to point blank range while waving his sword is possibly a reference to a humorous Warhammer 40,000 internet meme, which predated the release of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution in 2011.^[2]
