The Nidhoggur was a Battleship of the Space Wolves Legion, serving as the flagship of the Wolf Lord Ogvai Helmschrot and his Great Company, Tra, during the Great Crusade.^[1a]

History

The Nidhoggur was the leading Space Wolves vessel in the Dulan Campaign. Leman Russ himself personally commanded the battleship (with Helmschrot temporarily relocating to the Battle Cruiser Valkarn).^[1b]

The Nidhoggur is possibly named for Níðhöggr (also spelled "Nidhogg"), a serpentine creature from Norse mythology that gnawed at the roots of the World Tree, Yggdrasil.
