Description
The mines are complex and intricate devices,[1c] equipped with thrusters[1b], artificial sensors[1d] and a logic brain, which can determine the difference between an inert object like an asteroid and a manned spaceship.[1c] By being deployed in vast amounts, nuclear void mines can form an impenetrable defensive net around a planet.[1b] The minefield rotates with the day and night cycle of the planet, each mine remaining at an equidistance from one another. An elaborate cogitator on the planet monitors the minefield, randomly generating open lanes to allow for the passage of friendly vessel.[1c]
