Affiliation(s)

Ob'lotai is a skilled T'au Battlesuit pilot and a member of The Eight, Farsight's elite honour guard. The Battlesuit recently known as Ob'lotai 9-0 is crewed by a late-generation A.I. engram of the original Ob'lotai, who taught the young Farsight the basics of piloting a Battlesuit.[1a][1b]

History

Ob'lotai, then known as 4-0, first joined Farsight's service during the Arkunasha War. He served with Farsight throughout the Farsight Expedition, war on Arthas Moloch, the Battle of Vior'los (where he succeeded in destroying the flagship of the Scar Lords)[5b], and battle against Hive Fleet Gorgon. He either fell or was upgraded multiple times over these battles[2b], eventually becoming Ob'lotai 9-0 during the war against the Tyranids on Vior'los. During said war, he helped take down a Hive Tyrant with his new Railgun systems.[4]

During the Second Agrellan Campaign Ob'lotai was badly damaged protecting Farsight from an Imperial Eversor Assassin, though his actions allowed the rest of The Eight to destroy the creature.[6]

During the final assault on Dregrokk in the War of Dakka, Ob'lotai 9-0s Battlesuit was badly damaged by Ork fire.[3a] Oblotai 10-0 reappeared in a Drone afterwards, but the A.I. engram was so damaged in the battle that O'Vesa was unsure whether he could ever be used to pilot a battlesuit again.[3b]

Wargear

Ob'lotai consists of a modified XV88 Broadside Battlesuit equipped with twin-linked high-yield Missile Pods, twin-linked Smart Missile Systems, a Seeker Missile, two Missile Drones, and Velocity Tracker.[1a] The suit has also been seen wielding Railguns.[4]

Trivia

  • Ob'lotai's name changes with each iteration of the A.I. The earliest Ob'lotai we know of is Ob'lotai 3-0[5a] (though presumably Ob'lotais 1-0 and 2-0 existed). At the end of Farsight: Blade of Truth (Novel) Ob'lotais 10-0 through to 20-0 are introduced. It is uncertain if the Ob'lotai 10-0 iteration in Blade of Truth runs the same engram as Ob'lotai 10-0 in Arks of Omen: Farsight.[3b]
