Paul Harry[5] Sawyer was the former editor of the Citadel Journal before joining the production team on White Dwarf. [1] Paul was known by the moniker "Fat Bloke".[2]

Biography

Paul was first introduced to Games Workshop products while running a wargaming club in his hometown of Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire.[4a] He started working at Games Workshop as one of the Mail Order "Trolls" later that year.[4b] Paul also helped with translating Games Workshop material into German at that time.[4c] Paul would then become editor for Citadel Journal[1], before being asked to take over as Editor in Cheif of White Dwarf, where he worked for the next eight years, becoming the longest serving editor of UK White Dwarf to date.[4d]

After being made redundant by Games Workshop Paul met John Stallard.[4e] The pair would go on to found Warlord Games in 2007.[3] The two would go on to create the first plastic 28mm historical figures, starting with anicent Romans.[4f] In 2024 Paul was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma. Following a battle with the cancer Paul passed away on March 27th 2025.[3]
