The Penumbral Talons are a Raven Guard Successor Chapter.[1]

History
They often have little humanity left in them and the Penumbral Talons have a cold, focused attitude towards their missions. This can give them a sinister aspect, which the Chapter's black and white power armour is meant to lean into. The Penumbral Talons' bolters and helmets are pure white though, in order to highlight that the Chapter's weapons and minds are their most important weapons.[1]
The Chapter's talon symbol is designed to link them to the Raven Guard and like their Founding Chapter, the Penumbral Talons are masters of armoured ambushes. They will use small forces to lure their enemies into traps, before the Chapter will attack with meticulously organised formations of tanks, gunships and infantry aboard armoured transports. The Penumbral Talons also seize captives and mercilessly interrogate them in order to gain intelligence. The Chapter then uses this knowlege to plan further ambushes with.[1]
However the Penumbral Talons' reputation of using their allies as bait for their ambushes, have caused them to not be well-liked by other Imperial forces. Though this behavior is ordinarily frowned upon and could warrant a censure, the Chapter's high effective rate has allowed the Penumbral Talons to avoid such a fate.[1]

The Penumbral Talons were created by the Games Workshop employee Tom and they appeared in White Dwarf 515.[1]
