Personality Cults revolve around an Imperial figure that the Cult's members venerate,[1a] spread rumours of miraculous abilities about[1b] and who is viewed as their demi-god[1a] and savior. However to be a true Personality Cult, these figures need to believe this about themselves as well and actively command the Cults.[1b]

Description

The focus of these Hero Cults, as they are also called,[1c] can include spiritual leaders, industrialists, doomsayers[1a] and even members of the Astra Militarum. However the Imperium views these Cults as dangerous and heretical, as they threaten its uniformity of worshiping the Emperor. The leaders of Personality Cults are also vainglorious and self-serving, who use the Cults for their own benefits and plans.[1b] This includes having the Cults kill anyone who threatens them or stands in the way of their goals.[1a] It is because of this, that Astra Militarum Personality Cults are investigated and put an end to, as they can quickly spread to different Regiments.[1b]
