History

Horus Heresy

Phocron was the designation given to a Headhunter Prime of the Alpha Legion during the Horus Heresy. Years before the Heresy itself, Phocron and a few other Alpha Legionaries were put into stasis under Terra to act as a sleeper cell in case they were to be needed. In the opening salvoes of the Solar War, Alpha Legion Human operative Myzmadra activated Phocron and his battle-brothers. Together with Headhunter Kel Silonius (who in reality was Alpharius), they committed acts of sabotage and subterfuge against the Imperium to pave the way for the Legion's attack on Pluto. However during an Imperial Fists ambush at Artefact 9-Kappa-Mu, Phocron was seemingly killed by Archamus.[2]

Post Heresy

Traveling across the Imperium, an Alpha Legion Chaos Lord known as Phocron was responsible for the deaths of entire worlds through acts of sabotage, war, and terrorism undertaken by his vast network of Cultists and agents. Pursued by an unnamed Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor for nearly a century, in the end the Imperium discovered his hideout, the derelict space station and space hulk Hydra's Eye. However despite taking the station and cornering Phocron, the Inquisitor was shocked to find that "Phocron" was an identity and alias used by many Alpha Legion members. There had never been a true Phocron, it was merely a name to organise cultists and agents across the Imperium. Moreover, now that the identity was compromised the Alpha Legion had decided to discard the identity anyway. Worse still for the Inquisitor, a member of the Alpha Legion had made his face identical to his own, indicating that he was the new identity to replace Phocron.[1]
