Power knives,[2][6] or power daggers,[5] are small bladed power weapons. Similar to a power sword but on a smaller scale.[2]

Overview

Although a power knife might be mistaken for a mundane blade, when the glowing disruptive energy field snaps to life, there's no mistaking it. Power knives are able to cut through carapace armour as easily as flesh and bone, sizzling through burnt meat and flash-dried blood.[2]

Many in the Imperium might wield a power knife, from underhive Bounty Hunters or Hired Guns,[4] to the Emperor's illustrious Adeptus Custodes,[1] or even treacherous Chaos Cultists and sorcerers. A power knife is an effective tool for an assassin who prioritizes subtlety, only activating it when they strike. The weapon can be easily concealed by the wielder if they wish to disappear into a hive city's crowded streets and alleyways.[2]

Astartes Power Dagger

The Legiones Astartes have had access to power daggers since the Great Crusade. The Space Marines of the Alpha Legion were known to utilize them throughout the Horus Heresy[5] and continue to do so. Some Alpha Legionaries wield a power knife in each hand during melee combat.[6]

Adeptus Custodes Power Knife

Adeptus Custodes are known to wield masterfully crafted power knives. Though they appear to be mundane pieces of wargear, they're able to pierce the thickest armour, all the way to its hilt.[1]
