Astra Militarum Portal

Press Gangs are armed groups of Astra Militarum Guardsmen^[1b] or Imperial Navy Voidsmen,^[2] who gather new recruits for their armed forces by capturing Imperial citizens.^[1b][2]

While those captured by the Astra Militarum become Guardsmen,^[1b] Imperial citizens captured by Voidsmen are used to carry out the extensive manual labor needed to keep the Imperial Navy's warships functioning.^[2] Planetary Governors can also send out Press Gangs in order to fulfill their oaths of raising Astra Militarum Regiments.^[1a]
