A privacy field is a technology that deadens all noise coming in or out of a small area.[1] There are various privacy fields that are both opaque and soundproof, while also allowing for external sounds and visuals outside of the privacy field to be sensed.[2]

Overview

This technology for a privacy field can easily be contained within a dataslate. These typically consist of a basic conversation scrambler and vox-thief blocker, which is usually enough to keep the curious ignorant of the conversation being had within the field.[4] It's often used to have private conversations in crowded or otherwise bustling public spaces.[1]

Some privacy fields also created a blackened, one-way shroud around the area, allowing those inside to be hidden by a black veil and still view outside of the privacy field. These might be seen used in the upper-class box-seating of Imperial theatre houses. The opaque veils and auditory deafening features keep the political scheming and other antics those Nobles and ruling elite seated inside private.[3]

Auditory privacy fields are sometimes used by Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl[1] and his helpmeet Qvo-87, who are both equipped with this technology on their persons.[2]
