The Prol System, known colloquially as the Scrivener's Star, is a planetary system in the Calixis Sector which contains ten minor planetoids.[2]

History and Strife

The system was ceded to the Administratum in the sector's early days. The planetoids that orbit Prol are barely habitable and of no economic worth, but are used as a vast depository and data store. In more recent history, it is described as the best known strife within the Administratum in the Calixis Sector, as the system is suffering from a chronic shortage of space and Prol IX, the seat of the sector's hereditary adept class, begins to reach capacity.[1a]

The sector's Administratum adepts are divided between two groups, the Centurists, who wish to relocate to the forbidden world of Prol X, and the Pyratics, who wish to destroy the ancient records on Prol I and erect new temples.[1a] The disagreement has more recently turned violent, with sporadic killings and sabotage becoming commonplace on Prol IX. Meanwhile, the servile classes under the Administratum have become restless and unruly, and cult groups have begun springing up to exploit misrule and uncertainty. As such, the Inquisition considers the system a tinderbox waiting to ignite.[2]

The system has a population of 60 million[2], and stable Warp routes with Dreah and the Scarus Sector.[1b]
