Prosan is an Imperial Rad World, that is controlled by the Departmento Munitorum.[1] It is the first planet in the Cadia System.[2]
History
Its blasted surface was supposedly destroyed in a war long ago, which left Prosan with nothing but a baked atmosphere, cooked hardpan flats and craggy mountains composed of volcanic glass. Drifting rad-storms are also a hazard that appear without warning and anyone traveling on Prosan's surface must wear a fully sealed Environment Suit to safely do so. This is extremely necessary, as any bare skin that is exposed to the world can be immediately stripped away if enough pressure is applied to it. Because of Prosan's dangerous state, it is home to the Astra Militarum's Hostile Environment Training School, which teaches Regiments how to fight in radioactive worlds. Their training includes, daily marches, mock battles and target practice against mobile target servitors. The Regiments are also taught how to properly maintain their weapons and equipment in radioactive environments. This is vitally important, as the process of maintaining a Plasma Gun on a temperate world, can cause the weapon's pipe coils to burst in a radioactive one.[3]
