Public-address plates are monitors found in Hive cities. They normally show output figures, data about the weather, temperature, exchange-rate or the local news, but during a hostile attack revert to a blank screen with a simple repeating stand-by message,[1] only to be replaced by calming propaganda messages bearing Imperial mottos and hive slogans[1b] Other propaganda broadcasts include speeches[1c] or propaganda pictures of prominent individuals[1d] as well as sanitised battle accounts.[1e]
