Quinto Gavian
Quinto Gavian is an Ultramarines Vanguard Infiltrator Sergeant, who is serving in the Indomitus Crusade Fleet Tertius' Battle Group Chion.[1]
History
His squadron is part of Chion's Task Force II, which is currently fighting a large force of Militarum Traitoris on an embattled world. However the Heretics have prevented the Task Force from directly attacking them, due to defending a vast range of foothills with their heavy artillery and an apparent endless supply of munitions and troops. This, plus their territory being between the Dorus River's mile-wide raging torrent and the impassable Lemnian Mountains, had kept the Task Force immovable for months. Finally though, Task Force II's Intelligor-Savants identified the location of the Traitoris' high command in a base in the region and a plan was devised to kill them.[1]
It was then decided that Gavian's squadron would carry out the mission, while Task Force II's commander, General Peluros Mimon, distracted the heretics by leading the Task Force in an advance upon the Militarum Traitoris' base. There would be a time limit, however, before they were made to withdraw, as the attack would result in the deaths in many of the Astra Militarum, Adeptus Sororitas and Aeronautica Imperialis Task Force members who would be charging the base. Once the battle began, Gavian's squadron infiltrated the Traitoris' base and fought their way to an underground tunnel entrance that led to the heretics' high command. Knowing that members of the Task Force were dying with every second, Gavian ordered his squadron into the tunnels and told them they would not retreat until their mission was complete.[1]
