Quintus is a Forest World in the Calaphrax Cluster, cut off from the Imperium since the days of the Horus Heresy.[1a] It is home to the crashed Eldar Craftworld Theminarae[1b] and was a Necron Tomb World until the tomb was destroyed in M41.[1c]
History
Quintus was a Necron world before the Great Sleep. In M31, the Craftworld Theminarae crashed on the planet as a result of the Warp Storm unleashed by the Orb of Exyrion.[1b] While cut off, the planet became home to a Chaos Cult worshipping an empty suit of armour from one of the Fallen.[1c]
In M41, after the warp storms cutting the Calaphrax Cluster off from the Imperium abated, it was visited by a band of Eldar Harlequins. Master Seraphus of the Dark Angels led a strike force to investigate the reports of a xenos fleet.[1a] When the Harlequins found and reactivated Theminarae, they triggered the awakening of the Necrons in the tomb below.[1b]
After the Dark Angels detonated a part of the Craftworld in the Battle of Quintus, the Necron Tomb was destroyed. The Chaos Cult was purged by Inquisitor Sabbathiel, with the armour of the Fallen falling into a chasm opened by the detonation.[1c]
