Red Mist

The Red Mist is an atmospheric phenomenon of Baal Secundus. It is a form of iron-rich dust storm created by a combination of high winds and the moon's low gravity.[1]
The Red Mist is dangerous - not only is the mist itself toxic and potentially radioactive, but the native predators of Baal Secundus also hunt beneath its cover. As a result, most people do not venture out from whatever shelter they can take from the storm while the Red Mist is up.[1]
