Trooper[2a] Rilke was a sniper of the Tanith First and Only regiment.[1a][3a]
Biography
Back home on Tanith, Rilke's father owned a tavern. His sister, Loril also worked there.[1b]
Rilke was one of the original Tanith recruits of the First and Only.[1a] He was regarded as one of the regiment's foremost snipers.[1b][2a][2b]
When the regiment was deployed on Verghast, Rilke became part of a unit assembled in the final stages of the Siege of Vervunhive tasked with assassinating the Chaos Warlord Heritor Asphodel.[1b]
Later, during the Phantine campaign, Rilke was one of sixteen Tanith selected by Colonel-Commissar Gaunt for Operation Larisel.[3b] He was assigned to team Larisel 4 under Scout-Sergeant Mkoll alongside Troopers Cocoer and Nour and the Skyborne Specialist Babbist.[3c] Unfortunately, during the approach to Ouranberg, Larisel 4's Marauder was shot down by the city's air defences with all hands lost[3c][3d] (save Mkoll, who managed to rescue himself with his grav-chute).[3e]
