Rogue Factoria
Rogue Factoria are Imperial factories that are used by criminal organisations to create counterfeit weaponry and wargear.[1a]
Description
Though the counterfeits are cheaply produced, selling them is a very lucrative enterprise for criminals. Rogue Factoria also have the added benefit of keeping their owners' allies well-equipped with ordnance[1a]. They are overseen by Factoria Overseers, with Work Party Bosses charged with overseeing the Factoria Workers who create the counterfeit goods. These workers are motley groups of miscreants, that are gathered from wherever their Rogue Factoria masters can find them. On Hive Worlds, some are criminals who work in the Rogue Factoria, in order to pay off their debts to their Underhive criminal bosses. Others are escapes from Uphive, who had sought freedom and wealth, but instead found a new life that was much like their old one. When the owners of the Rogue Factoria need to help their allies or defend their Factoria, they will arm a group of Workers, with cast-off weaponry, and send them into battle. This ad hoc militia, known as a Factoria Work Gang, is led by a Factoria Overseer, with a Work Party Boss serving as their second in command. However the life of Factoria Worker is of little consequence to the Rogue Factoria's criminal owners. As a result, they are considered expendable and will be used as fodder to protect the Rogue Factoria. The Workers can also be loaned out to serve as expendable troops in the battles of the owners' allies[1b]. The Adeptus Mechanicus is also always on the look out, for those who create and use counterfeit Imperial goods.[1a]
Necromunda
On Necromunda, Rogue Factorias are used by the more nefarious elements of House Cawdor. These natural scavengers and notorious misers make great use of the Factoria's counterfeit goods. However just like on other Imperial worlds, the eye of the Adeptus Mechanicus is own Necromunda. Those found using a Rogue Factoria's goods will find that the Hive World's Guilders have placed a bounty on their heads, for the Mechanicus.[1a]
