Rothwyr Morvans
Rothwyr Morvans was a Grand Master of the Grey Knights. He commanded the 5th Brotherhood as Protector of the Sanctum Sanctorum[1] and acted as de facto Chief Apothecary.[2]
History
Grand Master Morvans was one of the few that spoke with the chapter's ancient Dreadnoughts, often awakening them for war. In battle, the 5th would often be deployed alongside several Dreadnoughts, as Morvans was aware that if one of these deathless warriors is left too long dormant he might never be roused. It is a cycle of war that the Dreadnoughts are doomed to repeat endlessly, as long as the Chapter has need of their might.[1]
During the Season of Blood, Morvans and the 5th were deployed to Armageddon to prevent its fall to a massive Khornate horde under the Daemon Primarch Angron. During the campaign, Morvans acted as the key Imperial leader, organising other warlords such as Logan Grimnar and Helbrecht aboard the Grey Knights Battle Barge Bright Sword.[3b] In the final stages of the battle he piloted a Dreadknight and led the assault on the Red Angel's Gate, seeking to seal it and end the Chaos threat. He engaged Angron personally, suffering grievous injuries but pushing both of them through the Warp Portal before it was sealed by the Grey Knights. Morvans vanished while locked in combat with Angron as Armageddon was saved from corruption.[3c]
