Rumour Engine

The Rumour Engine was an Imperial cogitator that created small images, that were glimpses into the future.[1]

History

Those who have seen it, claim the Rumour Engine bears a startling resemblance to the League of Votann's Ancestor Cores, including having bearded faces that have been carved into the cogitator's sides[2]. Some even claimed the device was sentient. However the sheer amount of inscrutable future-derived data the cogitator repetitiously assembled, has recently caused the Rumour Engine to break down. The Imperium has now asked its attendees, known as the Many With Eyes, to split the processing of the Rumour Engine's auguries amongst themselves. They all have been given a routine data wafer to conduct this task and each is encoded with a possibility of what the future may hold.[3]

Trivia

The Rumour Engine is a feature of Warhammer Community articles, that offer hints of upcoming miniatures that Games Workshop will release. The images shown are said to have been displayed by the Rumour Engine itself.[1]
